Week Seven: Go-to Starbucks Order with a Twist

 


    Hi guys! Welcome back for another week of drinks! This is week seven of my blog, and for those of you that are new, I've dedicated this blog series to sharing the different beverage recipes and drink orders that I try out, along with giving my review of them. I love getting recommendations of new drinks to try from friends, and sharing my own favorites with them as well, which is the whole inspiration behind these posts! 

    Over the weekend, I was scrolling on TikTok and a video popped up from an influencer that I follow, Darcy McQueeny, trying a new version of the Starbucks drink that I always get. Recently, Starbucks added Cherry Powder to their menu of 'add-ins' that can be put in drinks. Darcy's video was a review of her getting a few scoops of the cherry powder added into her Strawberry Açaí Lemonade Refresher, and I knew I had to go try it myself and give a review on here! 

    I did a little more research on reviews and the other videos that I saw on TikTok of people trying this drink everyone got around 3 scoops of the powder added to their refreshers. In my opinion, the refreshers are already pretty sweet, and I felt that 3 scoops of cherry would just be too much sweetness for me, so I decided on just getting 1 scoop of it. I got a Grande size, since I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not, and ordered the Strawberry Lemonade refresher like normal and asked for 1 scoop of the Cherry Powder. The color of the drink is absolutely gorgeous, so it definitely makes for a great picture. 

    I definitely liked the addition of the cherry, but it was nothing life changing for me. I think I made the right choice to only get one scoop instead of more, because I feel like anymore would've been too much and would've almost had a cherry cough medicine taste to it. If you're looking for a fun and easy addition to your Starbucks drink though, I would recommend it! A con to the powder is that each scoop is an extra .80 cents, another reason why I'm glad I stuck with one scoop because Starbucks is expensive enough. Overall I give this drink an 8.5/10!

  1. Yummy! I saw this drink too and thought it sounded interesting; I like cherry flavoring, but I agree that it can quickly taste too similar to cough medicine. This past week, I've been getting an iced shaken espresso with blonde espresso, almond milk, and a pump of brown sugar syrup in place of the classic syrup. I think the brown sugar flavor goes so nicely with the taste of espresso- definitely recommend if you like the taste of coffee!

  2. I've also seen people adding the cherry powder to refreshers. I really like the refreshers so I'll have to give this drink a try the next time I go to Starbucks.
