Week Eight: A Hometown Favorite

Hello everyone and welcome back for the eighth week of my blog! If there's any of you that are new, I've dedicated this blog series to sharing the different beverage recipes and drink orders that I try out, along with giving my review of them. This week is a special week, not only because its spring break, but because I'm home and now get to share one of my favorite local coffee shops from my hometown!

I'm from Des Plaines, Il, just a few minutes down the road from O'Hare Airport for reference, and my favorite coffee shop here is called Brew Coffee Lab located in the middle of Downtown Des Plaines. What's interesting about this shop is that it's located inside of the train station (kinda shown in picture to the left), so when you're inside ordering, right outside of the window you're able to view all of the trains that pass through the station. The location of this place definitely creates a unique experience and sets it apart from other coffee shops in the area.

Brew Coffee Lab has a wide variety of drinks and snacks, not just their amazing coffee. Besides offering many styles of coffee and espresso, they also have specialty drinks like chai, hot chocolate, tea, matcha, and even boba. For food, they offer many kinds of breakfast sandwiches, sweet treats, and pick-me-up snacks.

When I come here, I always stick to my usual order of an Iced Sugar Free Vanilla Latte with Whole Milk, it never disappoints. It's easy to tell when trying coffee from here that their quality is amazing and the drinks are made with love. Additionally, the prices are very reasonable compared to other coffee shops and chains! I believe that I spent just a few cents over $5, when this order at Starbucks would've probably been around $7. All in all, I'll always give this latte a 10/10. I love coming here and would recommend Brew Coffee Lab to anyone who's from around the Des Plaines area!

Thank you for reading about this week's drink! I'm glad that I was able to share one of my favorite spots from my hometown. Check back next week for another beverage review!

  1. This would be such a cool place to visit just for the view alone but you made the coffee sound good too! I'm never up in that area but I am actually going to be soon and I'm so glad I read this because it's definitely on my bucket list now.
