Week Twelve: Zion Coffee

 

    Hello everyone and welcome back Week Twelve of my blog posts! I can't believe there are just a few weeks left of blogging for class. Let's get into this week's drink..

    I decided on visiting one of my favorite coffee shops in Peoria, which is Zion Coffee. Zion was the first ever coffee shop that I went to in Peoria my freshman year, and now I'm ending my junior year and have been going ever since! 

    I always order my usual drink of choice when I come here which is just an Iced Vanilla Latte (basic but never fails!) I find that this drink is very strong compared to other lattes that I've tried, so it will definitely wake you up. But even with all of the caffeine, it's still sweet and flavorful enough to enjoy! 

    Fun fact, Zion sources their coffee from individual farmers and small cooperatives. On their website they share that what separates Zion from other coffee shops is their transparency and knowing exactly where their coffee comes from. They also share that they are proud to have great relationships with all of the farmers that they source their coffee from. 

    Along with having great coffee, Zion also offers matcha, chai, food (such as avocado toast, yogurt bowls, and bakery items), as well as their own merchandise, and bagged coffee grounds. 

    I also really like the atmosphere of the shop itself. The inside is very clean, minimalistic, with lots of natural light, plants, and wooden furniture. Theres light music playing and minimal talking, but still quiet enough to get your homework done and be focused. This time visiting, I went with two of my friends and we got our drinks and did homework for a few hours. 

    Overall, I would give this drink a 9.5/10, and would definitely recommend Zion to anyone who hasn't tried it yet and is looking for a good coffee shop to sit and get homework done at. Thank you for reading about this week's drink, and stay tuned for next week's post!
