Week Five: At-Home Coffee

Hi guys! Welcome back for another week of drink recipes! This is week five of my blog, and for those of you that are new, I've dedicated this blog series to sharing the different beverage recipes and drink orders that I try out, and giving my review of them. I love getting recommendations of new drinks from friends, and sharing my favorites with them as well, which is the whole inspiration behind these posts!

This week I decided on making a new at-home iced coffee recipe, since the last three weeks I shared my Starbucks orders. As I've mentioned in my first post, I currently live in my sorority house, where we have a shared Keurig machine with various K-Cups for all of us to use, which is super nice. One of my friends, Nicole, made her own coffee at home and shared what creamer she used, and it was one that I've never heard of before. Nicole had me try a sip of her coffee, and I went to the store the next day to get this creamer because it was so good!

Making my coffee, I started with my normal routine of brewing a Dunkin Original Blend K-Cup, and then cooling it down with lots of ice. I then added in my brand new creamer, which is the *drum roll pease*.. Chobani Coffee Creamer! I have the Vanilla flavored one, since I usually just prefer my coffee with very basic flavors. Usually when I make coffee from home, I'll add in some sort of creamer, and a little bit of sugar. However, with this new Chobani creamer, it wasn't necessary to add in any additional sugar or sweetener because of how good it blended with the coffee.

I will definitely be using this creamer from now on to make my at-home coffees because it is just that good! If you'd like to try out this creamer for yourself, I found it at target for a little under $5! Overall, this coffee gets a 10/10 from me, and I would recommend this to anyone who likes a simple to make, yet great tasting coffee! Thank you for reading about this week's beverage, be sure to check back next week for a new review and recommendation!

  1. Hey Maya, I love how you describe your coffee adventures. It feels like I'm right there with you trying new drinks! I haven't tried the Chobani Vanilla Coffee Creamer yet, but now I'm definitely adding it to my next Target run. I’m all for a good at-home coffee that doesn’t need extra sugar. Growing up with an almond mom I've become used to light meals, low-cal meals. Looking forward to next week's drink review!

  2. Hi Maya! I was wondering what new idea you came up with this week, so I had to check it out! I have seen multiple people posting similar cups to yours on social media, and I asked one of my friends where they got their coffee, and they told me it was homemade. So, it looks like people are kind of going back and forth from their favorite coffee place to making their good coffee at home. To be honest, even if I do like it, I do not drink coffee, but looking at the pictures that people post, the ones you have in your blog and your comments about it (which are pretty persuasive), truly makes me want to get some. In fact, yesterday I got a cappuccino here in BECC, and I finished it in less than three minutes, which reminds me of why on one hand I try to stay away from coffee...it’s too good!

  3. I can definitely vouch for Chobani creamers, they're absolutely worth it! I got the caramel macchiato version just last week, and needless to say, I've been making more coffee at home than ordering it recently. I'll definitely give the vanilla flavor a try when I go out for groceries.

  4. This sounds really good! I usually stick to a plain coffe latte, sometimes add a bit of cinnamon & honey, but I never really use creamers becuase I find them too sweet. This might be the only creamer that actually caught my attention. I just love the brand's vainilla greek yogurt and its products in general, so I feel like I should give it a try, and let my roommates try as well, since we love sharing new finds. Thank you for sharing Maya <3
