Week Two: Go-to Starbucks Order

Hi everyone! Welcome back to my blog for week 2! If you're new here, I've dedicated this blog to sharing the different coffee and beverage orders that I try each week, along with my review of them. This is something that I already do pretty often, and my friends are usually the people that influence me to try new things, so I thought that turning this idea into my blog topic would be great!

This week has been super busy for me, so I didn't have much time to come up with a brand new drink recipe to try. Because of this, I just ordered my usual go-to drink at Starbucks which is a Strawberry Açaí Refresher with Lemonade and no berry inclusions. A pretty basic drink order, I know, but it has been my favorite since middle school and it never fails.

What I like about this drink is 1. the flavor of it. Its the perfect balance of sweetness from the strawberry base, and sour from the lemonade 2. The customization of drinks that Starbucks offers when ordering. You're able to adjust the amount of strawberry base, lemonade, and ice that goes into it, whether or not you want the fruit inclusions added, and if you'd like to add any other flavoring options like juice or sweeteners. Back when Starbucks had the Raspberry Syrup option (R.I.P.), I used to love adding in a few pumps to make the drink a little sweeter 3. This drink also has a little boost of caffeine, 45-55 mg depending on what size you get, for the perfect pick-me-up to get you through your day.

In contrast, I can think of two downsides to ordering this drink with 1. being if it isn't made right. What I mean by this is that sometimes the Starbucks baristas might not give you the most accurate proportions of the drink, and it'll be too watered down if they added too much ice, or too sour if they added more lemonade than strawberry base. Con 2. is that Starbucks keeps raising their prices and becoming more and more expensive. In the article Weighing the Cost of Starbucks Coffee, author, Olivia Denny, writes that "Starbucks menu prices have increased by 39% since 2014" (Denny, 2024). Because of these price adjustments, going to Starbucks every day is not in the budget.

Overall, when made correctly, this drink will always get a 10/10 from me. Thank you for reading about this week's beverage, and make sure to stay tuned for more drink recipes and recommendations!

  1. Hi Maya! I like your idea of trying and sharing new drinks with us every week. I am curious about how many different ingredients to taste you can come up with each time. To be honest, I have never been to Starbucks, so almost everything that you have said is actually new for me. Also, if I end up going one day I may try one of your options.

  2. Hey Maya, I love this. Also, I often order the Strawberry Acai myself just with no scoop strawberry and vanilla cold fun. Definitely a great drink.
